The World’s First Online Animal Law LLM Degree Is Now Available from the Center for Animal Law Studies

The Center for Animal Law Studies (CALS) at Lewis & Clark Law School now offers the world’s first online Animal Law LLM! An LLM is a Masters of Law, available to U.S. and international law graduates and attorneys who are passionate about advancing animal protection through the law. The only one of its kind, this online delivery option complements the existing in-person Animal Law LLM Program at CALS. The remote, part-time Animal Law LLM adds to Lewis & Clark Law School’s already rich history of leadership in the field of animal law education. The online Animal Law LLM is now more accessible to attorneys who wish to focus on animal law in practice, teaching, research, academia, policy, and more. Applications for the inaugural Fall 2021 online Animal Law LLM cohort have a priority deadline of July 1, 2021!

About the Animal Law Online LLM Program

The online Animal Law LLM encompasses 26 credits and is designed to be completed in as few as four semesters. CALS’ mission is to educate the next generation of animal law attorneys and advance animal protection through the law. Now, lawyers from around the globe can learn in an asynchronous format from animal law leaders from the comfort of their own homes and at a manageable pace, taking approximately two courses per semester.

Pamela Hart, Assistant Dean and Executive Director of CALS says, “We are excited to take animal law education to the next level. Our alumni are already doing transformational work to improve the lives of animals around the world. Now, with our new Animal Law LLM, the Center for Animal Law Studies will be able to make animal law education more accessible to students in both the US and abroad. We are looking forward to seeing all that our Animal Law LLM alumni will accomplish to advance animal protection through the law.”
